Arrive Hondarribia the day before setting out the campaing.

Presentation of campaing members.

Embarkation, organisation and presentation of the programme.

Explication and planning of the chores on board the ship.

Day 1

07:00: Breakfast.

09:00: Set sail from Hondarribia port.

13:00: Light lunch aboard ship.

17:00: Arrive Donostia port. Make the deck shipshape.

18:00: Visit Donostia Aquarium/Naval Museum.*

19:30: Prepare dinner.

20:30: Dinner.

Day 2

07:00: Breakfast

09:00: Set sail from Donostia port.

13:00: Light lunch aboard the ship.

17:00: Arrive Getaria port. Make the deck shipshape.

18:00: Visit to the typical Village of Getaria. Talk on Navigation in the Basque Country.*

19:30: Prepare dinner.

20:30: Dinner.

Dya 3

07:00: Breakfast

09:00: Set sail from Getaria port.

13:00: Light lunch aboard the ship.

17:00: Arrive to Ondarroa port. Make the deck shipshape.

18:00: Visit to the beautifull, typical fishing Village of Ondarroa.Talk on fishing in the Basque Country and the problems which exist nowadays concerning traditional fishing.*

19:30: Prepare dinner.

20:30: Dinner.

Day 4

07:00: Breakfast

09:00: Set sail from Ondarroa port.

13:00: Light lunch aboard the ship.

17:00: Arrive to Ondarroa port. Make the deck shipshape.

18:00: Visit to the Village Lekeitio.Talk on Whaling History in the Basque Country while enjoying the select lekeitiarra scenary.*

19:30: Prepare dinner.

20:30: Dinner.

Day 5

07:00: Breakfast

09:00: Set sail from Lekeitio port.

13:00: Light lunch aboard the ship.

17:00: Arrive to Bermeo port. Make the deck shipshape.

18:00: Visit to the charming Village of Bermeo which we will reach by skirting the Mundaka estuary, which is a part of Urdaibai, the splendid, rich reserve of the biosphere.Talk on different biotypes and their special characteristics.*

19:30: Prepare dinner.

20:30: Dinner.

Day 6

07:00: Breakfast

09:00: Set sail from the port of Bermeo .

13:00: Light lunch aboard the ship.

17:00: Arrive to Santurtzi port. Make the deck shipshape.

18:00: Visit to the Village of Santurtzi.Talk on the industrial history of the Bilbao estuary.*

19:30: Prepare dinner.

20:30: Dinner.

Dya 7

09:00: Breakfast.

10:00: Set sail from the port of Santurtzi in the direction of Hondarribia.

12:00: Have lunch anchored under the shelter of the symbolic recluse Saint Jhon of Gaztelugatze.-Bird watching.

16:00: Afternoon snack aboard the ship.

18:00: Exchange of views and conclusions.

20:00: Arrive port of Hondarribia. Make the deck shipshape.

21:00: Farewell.

Note: During the campaings some of the places at which we stop, will be having their festivals so our participants will have the chance to enjoy and delight in the unsurpassable festive atmosphere which is characteristic of Basque folklore.

Organisation and chores aboard ship

  The Investigation Assistants will help and support the research and the Captain in the following:

Sighting and locating cetaceans, seabirds and fuel stains.

Identification of the animals.

Taking notes and information on cetaceans, seabirds and fuel stains.

Taking photographs.

Keeping the ship tidy and clean.

Preparing meals.

Requirements for participating as Investigation Assistants

Age over 18

No previous knowledge of navigation, marine biology or research thecniques is necessary.

   To make most of this unforgettable experience, what is really necessary is a good temperament, an ability to live in harmony with others, a desire to learn, to help and enjoy doing so.
